IMPACT was started by four couples, all working professionals with small children, who were interested in getting together with people like themselves.
IMPACT's goal is to be social, to network for business and to support our ever-growing Jewish community. Since the very first event in September 2006, IMPACT has received outstanding support from local individuals and organizations.
Our doors are open to ALL members of the community - married, single, children, no children, 'professional' or non, affiliated or non-affiliated.
Creating IMPACT
In February of 2006, the Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Federation sent a few young couples to Israel on the United Jewish Communities Tel Aviv 1 mission.
What was supposed to be a cultural learning experience turned into an exciting and life-changing trip for the group. Seeing the Israelis enjoying themselves in working environments, restaurants, bars and out and about, the young Sarasota couples came home with new ideas in mind. They decided to form a group to start business and social gatherings around the area, with the goal of bringing the Jews of Sarasota-Manatee together.
One of the first organized events was a Family Fun Day, which over 225 members of the Jewish community attended. Another was a business lunch with Donald Trump’s former apprentice, Lee Bienstock. The group started to make a difference - a real impact.
The group was formed and called IMPACT. With the generous support of the Federation and its leadership, IMPACT has continued to get young families together with beach outings, a visit to the Buccaneers Spring Training Camp, another Family Fun Day, a Jew’s Cruise and lots more.
This is who we are: we are connecting people with our community and trying to make an IMPACT.
