S K I P 
(Send-a-Kid-to-Israel Program)

 


The Send-A-Kid-to-Israel Program (S.K.I.P), which provides funds for teen travel to Israel, is part of the Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Federation’s commitment to continuity and identity for our community. In 2007-2008, the SKIP program sent eight teens to Israel.


The SKIP program is funded

Applications can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.

SKIP guidelines:
○ Applicants must be Jewish teenagers and young adults ages 13-30
○ Must have resided in Sarasota or Manatee County for at least one year
○ Attend an accredited trip sponsored by USY, BBYO, NFTY or a similar organization, as well as volunteer, study tours and religious programs

SKIP requirements will include:
○ Keeping a journal
○ Writing an article for the Jewish News
○ Performing 20 hours of community service in the Jewish community
○ Volunteering at a Federation community-wide initiative such as Super Sunday, Thank-a-thon or other volunteer effort

Financial need will not be a determining factor in the disbursement of funds.

The deadline for applications is April 1, 2010.
