You designate how your gift is to be used.
To provide unrestricted funds to help meet community needs now and in the future; or to provide permanent resources to aid identified programs, projects, agencies, organizations, or initiatives that are of particular interest to you and your family. It's up to you.
Current circumstances and resources may dictate when you choose to initiate your gift, how much you give and why. You may need to consider your own financial needs or you may want to provide income for loved ones. You may want to make a lasting contribution, but may be unable to make a substantial gift right now or you may simply prefer to initiate giving through you will. No matter what your motivation for giving, how much you are able to give or when you would like your gift to begin -- there's an option for you.
There are a number of options available.
Any of them will allow you to create a legacy that provides for future generations, while making sure that you and your loved ones are able to reap significant benefits.

- Annual income for you, a spouse or someone you designate
- You receive an immediate tax deduction at the time the trust is created

In exchange for your gift to the Jewish community, you can receive a guaranteed income for life. A Federation / Foundation Charitable Gift Annuity offers significant tax benefits for you and your estate. As a charitable contribution, it can be a permanent legacy that allows you to be there for the Jewish community by providing education, human services and health care for those who need it.
Protect the people you love. Create a lasting partnership with the Jewish community. Help ensure its future. Your will makes it possible.
By deciding to leave a bequest of a specific amount of cash, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate, you can create a permanent legacy. There’s no limit on the amount you may set aside from your estate – you may make a gift as large or as small as you’d like. You may choose to make a gift of cash, securities, or other property – and your estate will receive a tax deduction in the amount of your charitable bequest. If you have already drafted your will, your attorney can help you arrange a charitable bequest with a simple amendment, or codicil.
What are the benefits to you?
- Established through your will
- May be made in any amount – no matter how small or large
- Provides a tax deduction for your estate
- Provides permanent resources for organizations important to you
Here are some examples of how you might create a charitable bequest in your will:
- Help the Jewish community address its most pressing current needs by making a general bequest.
- Provide income for the Jewish community each year in perpetuity by making a general bequest to establish an endowment fund.
- Provide a gift to a specific agency or area of interest to you with a specific area or interest bequest.
- Support a specific agency or cause of interest to you every year, in perpetuity, with a designated bequest to establish an endowment fund.

As women in general increase their share of authority over America's wealth, Jewish women in particular are setting the standards for creative philanthropic giving and commitment to future generations.
In the forefront are Women's Constituency Lion of Judah donors who have established a Lion of Judah Endowment to perpetuate their annual campaign gift.
Every woman who contributes $5,000 or more to her community's annual campaign can establish a LOJE by establishing a fund of $100,000 or more in her name, ensuring perpetuation of her Lion of Judah level annual campaign gift.
A LOJE fund is not intended to substitute for any part of an annual gift. It is your lasting legacy for the future.
